Professor Ravinay Bhindi

Consultant and Interventional Cardiologist
Professor Ravinay Bhindi is the Head of Cardiology at Royal North Shore Hospital and the Director of the Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory. He concurrently serves as the Head of Structural Heart Disease across both the Royal North Shore (Public) and North Shore Private campuses, where he specialises in complex coronary intervention and percutaneous valve therapies. In addition to these institutional roles, he is the current elected NSW Chair of the Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand (CSANZ).
He is on the organising committees of national and international scientific meetings, including ANZET, Tokyo Valves and Sydney Valves, and is a regular invited speaker at major cardiology conferences in Australia and overseas. Professor Bhindi maintains multiple active research programmes and has authored over 200 publications in high-impact, peer-reviewed journals.
He is heavily involved in the mentorship of future specialists, actively supervising PhD and postdoctoral students in their advanced research projects. Professor Bhindi completed his MBBS and PhD at the University of Sydney before undertaking further interventional cardiology training and a prestigious postdoctoral fellowship at the John Radcliffe Hospital and the University of Oxford
